I'm an Italian language teacher and a trained jazz singer from Sicily (southern Italy).
I hold a degree in 'Teaching Italian to Foreigners' as well as a certification from the University of Perugia for Italian language teachers and I've been teaching for several years - the last three online.
I also worked in private schools and at an Immigration Center teaching Italian to absolutely beginners and advanced levels.Me as a Teacher
Sono un insegnante estremamente paziente, divertente e sempre allegro. Aggiorno costantemente il mio materiale, non mi stanco mai e i miei studenti confermano di divertirsi sempre durante le mie lezioni. Adotto un approccio di tipo comunicativo: questo significa che con TUTTI i livelli (anche il livello più elementare) io e i miei studenti parliamo solamente in italiano (l'inglese, se necessario, è utilizzato solo per il calendario o per l'organizzazione delle lezioni).My lessons & teaching style

Italian Language Teacher Centro Astalli (for Immigrants)I worked as an Italian Language Teacher with immigrants from Africa, with totally different levels starting from the absolute beginners who only spoke Arabic or their native dialect to more advanced levels, from Pre-A1 to A2.
This has taught me how to better teach people who don't know the Italian language at all.

Cannot express how grateful I am to Ruggero for his patience and the insightful and fun way that he teaches. Went to Sicily recently and for the first time in my life I have been able to speak to my Italian relatives and make myself understood which was just the most incredible experience. Ruggero instils confidence and helps you to believe in yourself which is a very rare quality and a gift few teachers possess. Still a long way to go but so far the experience has been life changing and that only happens when you have a great teacher and one who really cares about his students.

Ruggero is a great teacher. He has an incredible talent to mix both - learning and fun. For me that´s the best motivation to stay on and to improve. Ruggero is able to explain in detail, has a lot of patience and in general he is a very, very kind person. I`m absolutely grateful to learn with him.

Awesome lesson, he speaks very clearly in both Italian and English and at whatever pace works best for you. He also gets you to work things out instead of just giving you the answer which is very helpful as if makes you practice trying to explain something you don't understand - a skill that is invaluable when speaking a foreign language in a foreign country.

.. Very helpful. Well organised but may be out of my price range. I want to have two online lessons to supplement the Italian class I attend each week. I want to take online conversation class with the same tutor.. ciao

My husband and I have just begun to learn Italian for the first time. We love our lessons with Ruggero, they are so much fun! He is very professional, engaging and knowledgable, He provides us with a good balance of conversational practice and grammar lessons. Ruggero encourages us to stretch our speaking and listening skills. He is so positive about all our attempts to speak and we have learnt much in just ten lessons. We will continue to book lessons with Ruggero and we highly recommend him to others.
