I have had 23 lessons with Lydia and I am very happy with what I have accomplished thus far. Her dedication, innovative teaching methods, and unwavering support have transformed my language learning experience. Lydia's patience is a true asset that sets her apart as an outstanding educator. She takes the time to understand my learning pace and preferences, customizing each lesson to ensure it aligns perfectly with my needs. Her lessons are comprehensive and engaging. I appreciate the well-rounded approach she takes, which includes typing exercises, grammar lessons, sentence structure , and dialogue practice. Her creative strategies for memorizing Chinese characters have made learning characters both entertaining and memorable. Lydia's positive and supportive demeanor has been instrumental in boosting my confidence. She creates an environment where making mistakes is not only acceptable but an essential part of the learning process. I highly recommend Lydia. 😊

I started studying Chinese with Lydia over a year ago and she is the best Chinese tutor I have ever had. In particular, my ability to speak and listen in Chinese have improved hugely and I have much more confidence and motivation than ever before. Lydia uses a variety of techniques and resources to keep our lessons fresh which are always fun and easy to follow. She uses informal conversation to encourage me to practice speaking in a comfortable environment; this also enables her to personalise my learning towards topics that are most relevant to me and my goals. In our structured learning, she is always able to explain complex concepts using simple and creative examples. She is diligent in checking my understanding and is always patient and willing to clarify anything I am struggling with. Our lessons pass so quickly and I look forward to every one. I cannot recommend her more highly. Thank you for reigniting my passion for learning Chinese and for being such a wonderful teacher!

I've been studying with Lydia for over a year now, and I can easily say it was one of the best decisions I've made to improve my Chinese. From the start, Lydia has been extremely adaptable to my individual needs as a student, and has continuously made an effort to keep the material fresh, interesting, and suitable to my learning level in each lesson. When I first started learning with Lydia I could mostly just repeat fixed phrases in conversion, but after a year I've become much more comfortable speaking Chinese than I ever thought possible. Her encouragement and gentle corrections have pushed me to constantly make improvements and redouble my efforts outside of class. I can wholeheartedly recommend Lydia to anyone who would like to take their Chinese to the next level.

What I like about Lydia is that she always listens to what I say, points out my struggles, and makes more notes about them. This really helps me learn and not be afraid of making mistakes in her class. I always enjoy learning Chinese with her due to the friendly and supportive atmosphere she creates.
