みなさん、こんにちは！私の名前は咲良です。
Hello everyone! My name is Sakura. I'm a Japanese teacher!
I was born and raised in Tokyo, and I studied in Australia, Malaysia, and graduated from a university in the UK with a Hospitality and Tourism Management degree.
After I finished my studies, I worked on a cruise ship as a receptionist and traveled around the world for a year! And here I am right now, due to the pandemic, I came back to Japan and working as a Japanese and English tutor :)Me as a Teacher
I have two years of work experience at an English school in Tokyo and that’s where I found my passion for teaching languages! I have a TESOL-TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate. Also, I’ve been teaching Japanese online since 2020.
At the same time, I am also a student here on iTalki, learning new languages. Therefore, I understand the difficulties we face and sometimes you might feel like giving up on it... But I'm here to support and encourage you to keep learning what you love! I’m happy to help you with each step of the learning process from beginners to advanced :)My lessons & teaching style
I provide 3 types of Japanese lesson here;
1. Beginner class: for students who just started learning Japanese.
I'll teach you how to read and write Hiragana & Katakana. Also, we can practice some basic phrases you can use in daily life!
2. Intermediate class: for students who can read and write Hiragana & Kanji.
I'll teach you Japanese grammar rules and Kanji. Also, we can work on improving your conversation skill and vocabulary.
3. Conversation class: for students who have basic knowledge about Japanese language.
We can practice conversation about anything you love! Also, I'll teach you Kanji in each lesson.

I’ve had several lessons with Sakura Sensei over the past couple months now, and I’ve learned so much. My hearing comprehension is much better than when I started, I can respond several times faster than when I started, and I’m overall more confident when speaking, even when I’m guessing or if I made a mistake. I don’t know where my level would be right now if I hadn’t started taking lessons with Sakura Sensei. I cannot wait to see how much I can improve.

Sakura sensei is very patient with me ;) We spend half of every lesson having a conversation because my listening skills are very poor. It helps me to learn a lot of new words but I often forget and Sakura sensei will always help me remember. I really appreciate that any difficult or unknown words/sentences are written in a shared google document so I can review what we have learnt... I just wish I could always remember it! :) In the second half of the lesson we discuss a new grammar point. They are always extremely interesting and helpful in daily conversations. Thank you!

Sakura sensei is a person in a right place. When it comes to teaching foreign languages I think the most important thing is being able to understand each other. Sakura‘s english is very advanced and you will not have any problem understanding each other.
I, myself, am known for asking a lot of questions about culture, language and society as it is. Sakura is always willing to give me thorough answers, which I am really thankful for.
Studying japanese was always my dream and I really if there is someone who can guide me on this journey, it is さくらせんせい.
