About Me

Hello! My name is Tom. I am a native English speaker from England and I enjoy learning and teaching languages. I enjoy current affairs, the history of many countries all over the world (I would like to know more about your country too!), politics, travel, learning about different cultures, travel, music, cooking and much more. I enjoy hearing about what you find interesting! I personally have learnt 3 different languages, and so I am aware of what it is like to both teach and learn languages. Over the course of the last year, I have learnt Russian including here on italki, so I have experienced what makes a great teacher and conversation partner!

Me as a Teacher

I am a native English speaker who has been teaching for 5 years. I have both a CELTA and a PGCE. I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Thailand and Myanmar, and have taught History in schools in England. I have taught students with a wide range of abilities and levels over the duration of my teaching career, and look forward to delivering lessons customised to your level in order to help you develop and grow.

My lessons & teaching style

I enjoy teaching through conversation. In our lessons, we will discuss topics that are interesting to you and help you to practice your spoken English using natural conversation. The lessons will be tailored to the needs and goals of each student. I will help correct your mistakes and support you to achieve your language learning goals. Practising your speaking with me is sure to improve your confidence and fluency! Please note: these conservation lessons are not suitable for absolute beginners or children.
